In October 2025, the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China was successfully held in Beijing. The meeting reviewed and adopted the “Proposals of the CPC Central Committee on Formulating the 15th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development,” formally setting the tone for the overall direction of China’s economic and social development from 2026 to 2030.

The 15th Five-Year Plan clearly states the need to build a modern industrial system and consolidate the foundation of the real economy. This means that China’s development focus will continue to be on manufacturing—but no longer on traditional scale competition, but rather on achieving breakthroughs in three dimensions: intelligentization, greening, and integration. According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s forecast, by 2030, the scale of my country’s intelligent manufacturing equipment industry will exceed 5 trillion yuan, and the incremental market brought about by the digital transformation of manufacturing is still being released rapidly.

“High-quality development” in manufacturing is not just about upgrading equipment, but also about systemic technological innovation.
